Note for "former" candidates
Do you already have an account on the Canadian immigration website (formerly known as MyCIC) if you applied for a Working Holiday Visa in Canada last year, for example? There are two possibilities: either you have kept your login details and can still access your account, or you have lost them, in which case you can easily create a new account.
The processing time for a Working Holiday Visa application for Canada can vary depending on several factors: the time of year, the volume of applications, and your personal circumstances.
In 2025, the following trends were observed for Belgian nationals:
After receiving the invitation : you have 10 days to accept.
After complete submission of your file : official processing generally takes 6 to 8 weeks .
However, during peak periods (April to July), this delay can reach 12 weeks .
💡 Working Holiday Visa Tip : It is crucial to prepare all your documents in advance (valid passport, criminal record extract, compliant photos, etc.) to avoid unnecessary delays.
The Canadian Working Holiday Visa operates seasonally (generally from January to autumn). There is no fixed deadline for registration.
However, here's what you need to know:
You can submit your application as long as the season is open (via the EIC candidate pool).
The draws take place every week. As long as you are not selected, your application remains valid.
The recruitment season usually ends between September and October , depending on the number of places available.
🕑 Key points to remember :
The earlier you register (as soon as the season opens), the more you increase your chances of being selected.
Once the quota is reached, it is no longer possible to apply for the current year. However, it is possible to obtain a guaranteed visa when there are no more places available within the quota, or if you are over the age limit or have already obtained a visa in the past.
🎯 VVT Tip : To maximize your chances, we recommend that you register as soon as it opens and prepare your application carefully.
