Go on a Working Holiday Visa to Darwin: Discover Australia in its raw state!

Why choose Darwin as the arrival city for a Working Holiday Visa?

Location: Situated in the far north of the country, Darwin is also the capital of the Northern Territory .

A distinctive feature: Over 60 different nationalities are represented in Darwin's local population, giving the city a rich multiculturalism, which is very evident in local restaurants and markets. Please note that swimming in the sea in Darwin is not permitted due to jellyfish and saltwater crocodiles.

Fun fact , Darwin is the city with the most lightning (thunderstorm) in the world.

Climate: The region has a tropical climate, with two distinct seasons: a dry season and a wet season. Maximum temperatures often exceed 30 degrees Celsius, and minimum temperatures generally hover around 20 degrees Celsius. Darwin is the ideal region to spend the Australian "winter," from April to September. However, we advise against visiting between November and February (inclusive).

Population: approximately 140,000 inhabitants

Must-sees: The Mindil Beach Sunset Market (every Thursday and Sunday from 4 pm to 9 pm) is the spot to end a day with friends or family while watching the sunset. A true local institution, this market is brimming with stalls selling all kinds of food, drinks, and crafts. If you're visiting Darwin, take the opportunity to visit Kakadu National Park , Litchfield National Park , and head towards Uluru/Ayers Rock. The Red Centre holds more than one wonder!

Type of work: Tourism and mining are the two main pillars of the regional economy. Due to its distance from other major Australian cities, Darwin and its surrounding areas often have a need for workers of all kinds. So don't hesitate to go there to look for work! Other jobs such as sales assistant, bartender or dishwasher, waiter/waitress, kitchen or dining room assistant, delivery driver, warehouse worker, cleaner, babysitter, etc., are also available in the region.
