Queenstown, due to its location and local regulations, faces a housing challenge. Horizontal construction is limited by the surrounding mountains, and vertical construction is restricted to preserve city views. Consequently, finding accommodation once you arrive can be extremely competitive. However, since accommodation is usually linked to your course, it is recommended that you take your courses in Queenstown to facilitate your move and avoid major housing-related problems.

Working Holiday Visa Testimonials Auckland

In Auckland, once work or classes are over, there are plenty of excursion opportunities: Coromandel, the Northland islands, the surf beaches of Waikato… especially since the weather is generally more pleasant than in the rest of the country. The nightlife is also vibrant. For those who don't want to feel too out of place too quickly, Auckland is a perfect base before heading off to explore New Zealand's unique natural landscapes. Planning to stay for a while to work? Consider Mount Eden as your base.

Hi Maëlle, I hope you're doing well? ☀ I realize I never replied to your email asking if everything went well at the beginning. So yes, everything went so well that I'd like to know how much it would cost if I wanted to change my flight to stay until the end of my visa? So, in October

Hello,

First of all, I apologize for taking so long to reply, I'd forgotten…

Everything is going very well, I'm impressed by the open-mindedness of the people here. You can have a real conversation with anyone, which is different from where I come from, haha.

The week of activities in Auckland was really great, I highly recommend it. It really helps you discover the city and learn how to get around if you plan to stay for a while. Staying in a small group for these activities really helps you build connections, and it just feels good to be able to chat with someone after leaving everything behind at home. The Bay of Islands activity is also really great; it's a great way to discover the country for the first time.

The classes are going well too; all the teachers are very friendly. It's very different from traditional schooling in Belgium. They go out with us on Friday evenings, for example. I actually extended my stay by a month because I felt my level wasn't high enough, and I simply didn't want to leave Auckland right away. My host family is going very well too, no complaints at all.

Yes, I've started looking, but it's not super easy to find accommodation since I absolutely need it to be either included or nearby, as I don't have my driver's license. For this trip, I really recommend getting your license so you can buy a van and explore New Zealand as you please.

Yes, I have photos from the week of activities; I've attached them, and yes, no problem, you can use them ;) they're just not always the best quality…

Thank you,
have a good day,
Liam
