FAQ – Frequently asked questions about the Job Accelerator package in Cairns

For young Belgians, the Australian Working Holiday Visa is the most suitable solution for traveling and working legally in Australia for a year. Depending on the conditions met, it is then possible to extend the experience with a second, or even a third, visa.

Yes, it's possible to find work in Australia, but it depends on several factors: your English level, your experience, the city you arrive in, the time of year, and your ability to adapt quickly. Some young people find a job within days, while others need more time. The benefit of this program is precisely to allow you to arrive better prepared.

To maximize your chances, it's best to arrive with an Australian CV , locally recognized certifications, and a good understanding of the job market. This program has been designed to bring these elements together from the very beginning of your stay.

In Australia, the minimum wage is high compared to France.

On average, you can earn between 23 and 30 AUD per hour depending on the type of job and your experience.

In sectors such as:

  • cafes / restaurants
  • hotels
  • tourism

There are many jobs available that can help finance your trip .

The most sought-after certifications in the sectors targeted by this program include:

  • the RSA
  • Barista training
  • food hygiene

These training courses can clearly make a difference when applying for jobs.

There is no single timeframe. With proper preparation, some participants find a job in a few days, while others take a few weeks. The program aims precisely to reduce this job search time.

Not necessarily. Many jobs available on a Working Holiday Visa don't require prior experience. However, having a professional appearance, a decent level of English, and local certifications can significantly increase your chances of landing a job quickly.

You can certainly go alone, but that often involves more uncertainty at the outset. A structured program like this saves time, helps avoid certain mistakes, provides support from the moment you arrive, and gives you a better understanding of the expectations of the Australian market.

An intermediate level is recommended. You don't need to be bilingual, but it's important to be able to understand instructions, communicate with clients, and present yourself during an interview. The courses included in the program will help you feel more comfortable quickly.

Testimonials from participants in the Australian ranch work program

"Hi Maelle, I found a job and I've been here for 3 days. It's great, it's between Brisbane and Cairns and 2 hours from the sea. It's a cattle farm but they also have horses, sheep, dogs... I'm here with the owners (they're lovely) and another girl my age (who's been through the same thing as me) so it's quite a friendly atmosphere, which I prefer to a big, soulless factory farm. I don't have to pay rent or for food, which is perfect. I work from about 7am to about 5pm, depending on the workload. I've been here less than a week but I already love it!"

Hi Maelle,
The week is going really well, it's been fantastic. I got to feed a lamb and we went quad biking, tractor riding, horseback riding, etc. The training staff is super cool. We have different instructors for different things and they are all very kind and attentive, so it's great that I can ask lots of questions. The Visitoz staff are very nice too.
The group is great, I've made two good friends and I get along really well with everyone.
The hostel in Brisbane is amazing. It's very well located and there's a shared kitchen and a great atmosphere.
I just accepted a job offer in Melbourne. It's a job with horses (feeding and working with young horses). The woman seems really nice, and I have a little cottage all to myself. I start on Monday but I'm arriving this weekend to settle in.

Have a good day!
