After an au pair stay in the Netherlands and a one-year Working Holiday Visa program in Australia, followed by a trip to Southeast Asia thanks to the savings I'd made, I decided to take my desire to discover the world a step further by killing two birds with one stone: studying abroad in Scotland. During those five years, complemented by a year-long university exchange in Mexico and six months in Italy, I continued to travel extensively throughout Europe.

Graduating at the height of the pandemic, I initially worked for an international cooperation NGO on projects in Africa and Latin America, before embarking on an eight-month trip to Canada and Latin America. It was therefore a natural fit for me to join the Languages & Travel team to advise and support you in your travel plans. My specialties? As you might have guessed: Australia, Latin America, Italy, and Scotland. That said, I have also had the opportunity to travel to New Zealand, England and Canada, among other places, as well as to visit many language schools in Germany, Ireland and Spain - and I don't plan to stop anytime soon.

It wasn't until I started university that I discovered all the opportunities available to young people to go abroad: studies, au pair programs, Working Holiday Visas... Due to a lack of resources and information, I wasn't able to go abroad myself before or during my studies.

I embarked (somewhat by chance) on a Master's degree in International Mobility at the University of Caen in France, which allowed me to further develop my knowledge of mobility programs. During this Master's program, I had the chance to meet the L&T team, with whom I've been working ever since. Having traveled to several countries since then, I'm going to try the Working Holiday Visa in Australia in 2024—why not meet in person in Sydney or Brisbane!

My goal today is to enable you and as many other young people as possible to go abroad so you don't have the regret, like I did, of not having gone, whether for your studies or simply for the experience of living abroad.

Over the past 3 years, I have visited schools in Dublin, Malta, and Canada, and I don't intend to stop there!

"My goal is to raise awareness about the opportunity Belgians and French citizens between the ages of 18 and 30 have to obtain a Working Holiday Visa. It's an extraordinary chance to discover one or more countries on a reasonable budget (equivalent to about 2 to 3 months of a full-time student job), while also being able to self-finance your stay thanks to the many jobs available.

To all those still hesitating, I say, 'Go, go, go and take your chance!' This program is for young people who have just finished (or haven't yet finished) their secondary education, as well as those who are currently seeking employment or have a job and want to seize this opportunity. It's true that after 30, it will be too late. In my 30-year career in this sector, I haven't discovered a better opportunity than the Working Holiday Visa."
